He begins each class period by going around the room and getting to know his students. This speaks of his passion for his work. He takes the time to learn what each person's history is, what their motivations are, and who the person is behind the AEP uniform. In this way he works to better understand his audience. Joe then tailors much of his message to resonate with the individuals in front of him. His overall message is one of empowerment and self-fulfillment. He relates to them on a personal level and tries to actively understand their viewpoints. Ultimately, he works to convey a message of personal accountability and leadership that is strengthened by his passion for inspiring others.
